The Guthrie Green will host its first official event for the first time in months after shutting down due to COVID-19 concerns.

The park will be hosting an art market with eight different vendors on the dock and the music stage.

Leaders with the Guthrie Green said the art market is a way of easing back into hosting events.

Tony Moore, Executive Director and the Guthrie Green and the Gathering place said the park will return to hosting Sunday Zumba classes and the Glow on the Green event in December.

"Very controlled, we're not getting ahead of ourselves,” said Moore. “We're certainly watching the larger narrative and seeing what COVID is doing and seeing where trends are going."

Park management said that they will be keeping tabs on the capacity of the event and will be monitoring where people enter and leave the market to ensure there is proper social distancing.

The art market will begin at 6 p.m.
