This week, the Meals on Wheels program is giving out Thanksgiving meals to Tulsans in Need.

Meals on Wheel typically provides food to senior citizens every year during the holidays, but this year the organization is expanding its outreach.

According to a Meals on Wheels spokesperson, due to a few companies overwhelming generosity, this year they will be giving out meals to roughly 10,000 people who are seniors or are apart of families that may be struggling.

The organization will have seven distribution sites for the meals and they will be given out over the course of the week to anyone who stops by.

Calvin Moore, the Meals on Wheels Tulsa President said that they are thankful that they get to help people during a time of year that can be difficult for some.

"Thanksgiving is a special time and here at Meals on Wheels we want to make sure people never feel isolated never feel alone they never feel forgotten," said Moore.
