More than 200 kids have brand new bikes, scooters and helmets all thanks to Kellyville first responders. The town’s firefighters and police officers wanted to do something good, so they organized a Christmas Parade and passed out the bikes to families.

The Kellyville Fire Department is overflowing with boxes full of donated toys right now.

“It is important to support your community," said Kellyville Police Chief Shelly Garrett.

First responders have collected boxes and boxes of donations throughout the year. The boxes downstairs were donations collected from the town’s Christmas Parade. Each gift will be going to a child in need this Christmas.

"It is about bringing everyone together, helping people," said Chief Garrett.

Kids lined the streets with their families, some bringing hot chocolate, others dressed as reindeer and snowmen, all to watch Santa's helpers hit the streets for the town's Christmas Parade.

"Anything positive is a good thing right now," said Kellyville Fire Captain Chad Enlow. "That is one thing about Kellyville is we are pretty tight knit.”

The whole event was organized by the town’s fire and police department, but it took the whole community to make it happen.

'"You know a lot of the parades unfortunately got cancelled and we went on with ours- advertised as social distancing and asked everybody to wear a mask," said Captain Enlow.

One of the highlights of the night was giving away more than 200 donated bikes, scooters and helmets to kids.

"Look at the times we are in. People have lost their jobs. They last thing they can probably afford is a new bike for their kid. It was nice to be able to fill some sort of void and make people's Christmas a little bit better," said Chief Garrett.

The Kellyville Police and Fire Department kept their sirens and lights blaring as they turned each corner of the parade.

“When we saw just the amount of people, it is humbling. It is humbling to be able to serve your community in that way," said Chief Garrett.
