OSDH Updates Priority Groups Ahead Of Expected COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is updating its vaccine priority groups and the first phase will go into effect as soon as Oklahoma gets its first doses.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is updating its vaccine priority groups and the first phase will go into effect as soon as Oklahoma gets its first doses.

It includes staff and residents at long term care facilities healthcare workers providing direct inpatient COVID care, EMTs, and paramedics. It also includes CVS and Walgreens staff administering the vaccine.

Phase two is expected to go into effect in January. At that time, first responders like law enforcement and fire departments can receive the vaccine. It also includes healthcare workers proving COVID-19 outpatient care like those at urgent care and outpatient facilities.

Residents and staff in group settings like homeless shelters and jails and those over 65 are also included.

Phase three includes essential business workers, teachers, students, and anyone working in education.

The fourth and final phase will be open to all Oklahomans.
