Tulsa County Board Of Commissioners Approves Fire Department Overtime Reimbursement

The Tulsa County Board of Commissioners has approved $1.2 million to reimburse seven Tulsa County Municipalities for fire department overtime costs. The money will be used to reimburse the departments for overtime during the pandemic. Tulsa will be receiving the most, with almost $900,000 going to the fire department.

The Tulsa County Board of Commissioners has approved $1.2 million to reimburse seven Tulsa County Municipalities for fire department overtime costs.

The money will be used to reimburse the departments for overtime during the pandemic. Tulsa will be receiving the most, with almost $900,000 going to the fire department.

Other communities getting reimbursements include Broken Arrow, Glenpool, Collinsville, Jenks, Sand Springs and Bixby.

According to TFD officials, more than 100 firefighters have had to quarantine this year, forcing many firefighters to step up to cover the shortage by working 48-hour shifts.
