According to the department, the new program will target workplaces with the highest injury and illness rates.

The new Site-Specific Targeting Directive is an update to a four-year-old directive of the same name.

The update will create a new targeting category for workplaces with consistent illness and injury rate increases.

The directive update will also allow records only inspections if compliance officers believe there was incorrect data, which will limit unnecessary full inspections.
