The Food and Drug Administration has proposed removing ingredient requirements for French salad dressing at the request of the Association for Dressings and Sauces.
Currently, dressings must include vinegar, oil and lemon or lime in order to be considered a French dressing. The change would allow companies more freedom with their dressing recipes.
The changes come following a similar move that was proposed for cherry pies.
