OSBI Investigates Inmate Death At Pontotoc County Jail

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of an inmate at the Pontotoc County Jail.

According to the OSBI, Billy Joe Johnson died over the weekend after a fight with another inmate, Kalup Born. Following the fight, Johnson was transferred to OU Medical in Oklahoma City where he later died.

OSBI officials said that Born is currently awaiting trial for the kidnapping and murder of a 70-year-old in 2017 and additional charges in the case are possible.
