The owner of Tulsa’s TNT Fireworks Supercenter expects to see more customers in the days leading up to New Year’s Eve. She said this is because more people are likely to be staying home in smaller groups as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Maddie Guynes runs the TNT store located in Tulsa. She planned for a quiet season in the summer but when the 4th of July holiday rolled around, Guynes saw her sales double compared to previous years.

Her store has been open again since Monday. While the summer holiday traditionally sees more business, she said there have been more people already coming in to prepare for New Year’s Eve celebrations than in previous years.

Guynes said that she is expecting even more customers as the week continues.

“We’re expecting a lot of smaller family get-togethers and that all of those people will need some fireworks,” said Guynes. “A lot of people are going to be ready to see 2020 gone and so hopefully they’ll want to start off 2021 with a big show.”

The TNT store will be open through New Year’s Day.
