Sapulpa City Council members could vote to extend the city's mask mandate after it expired at 12:01 a.m. Monday.

The city council plans to have a discussion to possibly extend the mask mandate during a Monday night meeting. If passed, the mandate would be extended through March 1.

Sapulpa City Councilors first passed a mask mandate in November with a vote of six to four. Councilors had previously voted against the measure two times, with the first 'no' vote happening in mid-July. City leaders have since said that it is important to protect the health of residents during this unprecedented time.

The city council meeting is set for 7 p.m. Comments from the public will be allowed following discussion on extending the mandate.
