The Oklahoma State Health Department is working to set up 90 vaccination sites around Oklahoma to have them ready by the end of this week.

That comes as the state moves ahead with Phase 2 of its COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan.

People older than 65 are now eligible to get vaccinated as part of the state's Phase 2 plan which has several tiers. Some teachers are also in a lower-tier as last month, state leaders announced teachers would be a part of phase 2 of vaccine distribution.

So far, healthcare workers, first responders, and now people age 65 and older have the green light to get the shot but since teachers are in a lower tier of phase 2, they are still waiting.

Oklahoma's Commissioner of Health Doctor Lance Frye says there is a prioritization list for a reason and everyone in phase 2 will get vaccination once additional vaccines arrive in Oklahoma.
