Excitement is building at Southern Hills after the PGA of America announced the course will host the 2022 PGA Championship.
Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa is preparing to host two major golf tournaments in two years.
The PGA made the announcement Monday after they stripped the tournament from one of former President Trump's courses in New Jersey.
The City of Tulsa is not commenting yet, but more details should emerge sometime next week as logistics are still getting figured out. The PGA will also comment further then as well.
The tournament could be a huge economic boost for the city and state, and both local and state leaders pushed for the tournament to come here.
Southern Hills GM Nick Sidorakis said they are so excited to be in the spotlight for two straight years after renovating the course in 2019.

"We'll get to unveil it twice in two years,” said Sidorakis. “That doesn't happen very often, unless you're on the PGA rotation on the tour."
Southern Hills last hosted the PGA Championship in 2007. Tiger Woods won that one.
