A Jenks man is looking deeper into Oklahoma’s daily COVID-19 numbers and breaking the data down, making it easier to understand what’s happening in the state.
Roger Graham churns out the facts, using the raw COVID numbers and figures it’s his duty to make them easier to understand.
Graham works with spreadsheets constantly for work, and early in the pandemic, he started wondering if his skills could help people understand the magnitude of the virus.
"That was what peaked my interest, I wanted to know where are these cases, what's going on?" he said.
From his work from home office, he spends part of his lunch hour combing through the data put out by the state. He pulls it down and runs it through a database he created, and churns out a spreadsheet, reporting the cases. His specialty is sorting them by zip code and city in spreadsheets that other people can sort to find whatever information they need.
"This is my contribution to this whole thing," said Graham. "I'm not medically trained, there's nothing I can do on that side to help, and I think all of us want to do something to help. I know there's a lot of anxiety out there and I hate to add to the anxiety but there's also a lot of people who want to be informed and know what's going on."
