It’s been a tough stretch for the Golden Hurricane, losing four of their last five games, thanks in part to slow starts. Tulsa was unable to change their trajectory today, falling to Tulane 58-48.
In Wednesday's matinee matchup, the team faced a Tulane Green Wave team who has lost five of their last six games.
After a closely matched start, Tulane closed the first on 19-2 run to take a 13-point lead at the break.
Tulsa came out of locker room with a 10-0 run and it looked like Frank Haith’s team was back in rhythm. After the run, however, the rhythm disappeared.
Tulsa had 11 turnovers with an offense that didn’t click. You can live or die by the three, and Tulsa could not see them through, shooting just 19% beyond the arc on the game.
Brandon Rachal led the team in scoring with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Nobody else was in double digits in the point column.
Tulsa drops to 9-9 on the season and 6-7 in the American. The Golden Hurricane will host Temple next on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
