Many places around Green Country got many more inches of snow in the past 24 hours and some kids are making the most of it.
Lots of kids in Bristow were super excited for the snow, but some of the people shoveling told News On 6 they’re ready for it to be gone.
Route 66 in Bristow was pretty clear, but some of the side streets were still snow packed.
A few people were out driving in the snow. One person got stuck, but a few kind people came by to help them get out.
Some kids were enjoying their distance learning snow day by sledding out near the lake.
They tell me they built some jumps and ramps for their sleds, but the fastest way to get down the hill is to “superman” it, meaning head-first down the hill. They say it’s also good weather for a snowball fight.
“It’s fun because we don’t get a lot of snow,” said Seth Battenfield.
“I thought we’d only get like two inches this year,” said Denver Flood.
Although some are taking advantage of it, others are a little sick of having to shovel their driveways for the second time this week.
“It’s a lot more than I wanted,” said Terry Looney. “I work in Tulsa so it’s hard to get in and out, but I’ve had enough of it.”
The kids told me they haven’t done their distance learning schoolwork just yet, but sledding seems like a pretty good excuse.
