Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt announced his nomination for Secretary of Commerce and Workforce Development on Thursday.
Governor Stitt announced in a press release that he had nominated Scott Mueller to join his cabinet.
“Scott’s unmatched ability to expand, grow and attract companies is exactly what Oklahoma needs to become a Top Ten state," said Governor Stitt.
According to the release, if confirmed by the senate, Mueller would replace the outgoing Secretary Kouplen and begin overseeing 30 agencies including the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and the Governor’s Council for Workforce and Economic Development.
Kouplen announced that he would be stepping down from the position to focus on his role as the Chairman and CEO of Regent Bank.
