Okmulgee Police Searching For Dispensary Armed Robbery Suspect

The Okmulgee Police Department said Saturday it is searching for an alleged armed robbery suspect.

Authorities received a call around 11:30 a.m. Saturday that a man entered a dispensary near South Delaware Avenue and East 8th Street armed with a handgun.

While at the dispensary, the suspect is accused of drawing the weapon, demanding money and marijuana. As the suspect left the store, Okmulgee police said the victim pulled out a handgun and fired at the suspect's vehicle as it was leaving.

Officers later spotted the suspect's vehicle and a pursuit began. One person was taken into custody while another person escaped into a wooded area.

Authorities identified that both people involved are members of a federally-recognized tribe. The case has since been turned over to the FBI.
