Tulsa County leaders will be helping residents in the historical Oakhurst neighborhood by cleaning up the area. It is spring cleaning season and Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith says she wants to help make these homes look as good as possible.
Multiple Trash roll-off containers will be provided by Tulsa County to help clean up all five square miles of the neighborhood and residents will not be limited to just throwing out regular trash. There will be recycling containers where people can throw out tires, computers, printers, flat screen monitors, DVD players, and basically, anything that uses batteries has a power cord as long as it's under 50 pounds. There is a fee for older computers and televisions. To pre-pay CLICK HERE
Residents will be doing the majority of the cleaning but the city says they have volunteers ready to help.
Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith says she believes the cleaning will motivate homeowners around the community to keep a better eye on their own house in the future.
"You know I think something where we all do spring cleaning. We all just feel so much better. It kind of gets us on a path going forward. That's what we hope to get out of this," said Keith.
This clean-up is expected to go from 10 AM to 3 PM on Saturday.
