A family said their car was hit by bullets when a man fired shots at police officers Sunday at Savanna Landing Apartment Complex.
Their insurance company said the car is a total loss and now they have no way to get around. The family's car has several bullet holes in it and several of the windows were shattered during the shooting.
"She likes to sit right here in the middle,” said Clarence Wilson. “The seat that has the bullet holes."
Wilson said he and his family were about to leave to help a friend move on Sunday, and his six-year-old daughter was playing video games. Wilson said he's thankful they were running late that day.
"One of the bullets would've hit my wife's leg and this one wouldn't have been alive,” said Wilson.
Tulsa Police said 29-year-old Edward Madden shot at officers at the Savanna Landing Apartment Complex on Sunday. Officers fired back, hitting Madden once in the hip.

Wilson said his car was hit several times during the exchange, but it hasn't been determined whether the bullets came from the suspect's gun or the officers.
"Everything that we saved up went into this car and not even a month later we are back stranded again,” said Wilson.
Wilson said he and his wife just purchased the car on May 1. He said they have limited insurance coverage and were waiting on the title before they could get full coverage.
"They're just waiting for me to get the title to cut me a check that's less than what I paid for it,” said Wilson.
Tulsa Police said if there's any damage to property caused by officers during a police incident, the city will investigate the claim. Wilson said they filed a tort claim with the City on Monday, but it could take some time until the investigation is complete.
He said in the meantime, they can't afford a car to get to doctors’ appointments for his pregnant wife, so they're hoping people in the community will help donate money.
"It will make my family happy to know that there's people out there willing to help in situations like this,” said Wilson.
The family started a GoFundMe page to help pay for a rental car to get to doctor’s appointments and take their kids to school. Click here to help them out.
