The program aims to provide students with a chance to acquire new skills and train them for the workforce. On Tuesday, Sherwood Construction, the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa, and Fastenal came together to provide the program with Nathan Hale High School branded safety vests and hardhats for up to 150 students. Fastenal also donated safety glasses and gloves for more than 150 students.

Sherwood Construction says in total the school now has nearly $6,000 in new Personal Protective Equipment for the next generation of builders.

"By providing PPE to the program, Sherwood Construction shares their safety-first culture with high school students, who are their next generation of workers, and hopes to generate increased interest in the heavy civil construction industry where there is significant job stability and opportunities to acquire new skills while building a long-lasting career," said Sherwood Construction in a statement.
