A teenager is in the hospital after a shootout in a busy intersection, and Tulsa Police are searching for people involved.
One witness told News On 6 he heard at least seven shots near 31st and Mingo, an area with a lot of businesses and several taco trucks.
Thursday afternoon, a food truck with two women inside at the time was hit by at least two bullets. One bullet hit a propane tank, and the other hit the back door.
News On 6 talked to three people who were there at the time. No one wanted to go on camera because they are all still shaken up from what happened. They all checked on each other after the gunfire.
Witnesses told police a brown car and a silver SUV were firing shots while sitting next to each other at 31st and Mingo. The vehicles involved then took off.
Shortly after officers got to the scene of the shooting, Hillcrest Hospital South reported a gunshot victim in a shot-up silver SUV showed up at the emergency room.
That is when officers also got to the hospital and learned a 19-year-old passenger had been shot multiple times.
Police said at last check, the man was in surgery and is stable.
Officers say they found a pistol and shell casings inside the SUV, and that the shooting victim had a magazine for the pistol in his pocket.
The driver of the SUV was detained and is being questioned by detectives.
Police said the identity of the people in the car that got away is unknown and have not released the names of those in the SUV.
