Good Samaritan Helps Save Hit & Run Victim; Tulsa Police Search For Driver

Tulsa Police are looking for the driver accused of hitting a man who was walking along the road near 31st and 129th East Avenue, then leaving the scene.

Police say the victim lost part of his leg after being hit and is in the hospital, recovering. 

Officers say the truck they are looking for is a white Toyota Tacoma, extended cab with tinted windows. They found a video of it on a surveillance video near the crash site. The victim was walking along the road near 31st and 129th East Avenue when the driver of the white truck hit him, then kept driving.

Officers say a good Samaritan likely saved the victim's life. They say the person saw what happened, ran over to the victim, and used a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.

"It probably saved that person's life. It's really cool that they knew what to do, put the tourniquet on there, and was able to at least cut the bleeding off until they were able to get him to medical personnel,” said Officer Danny Bean with Tulsa Police.
