Tulsa police arrest two men who they say were caught in the act trying to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked at a business near 19th and Garnett on Friday.
They say when they got to work at around 7 a.m., they spotted one person underneath a car and another person standing next to a different vehicle, so they called the police. Officers say when they arrived at the scene there was a catalytic converter missing from one of the cars parked in the lot.
They also say they found a catalytic converter in the truck that belonged to the suspects. Seargent Tom Milburn with the Tulsa Police Department says they were fortunate that an officer was near the area when the crime was reported.
"There were a lot of angry employees here," Milburn said. "They don't like their catalytic converters being stolen and I don't blame them one bit."
Replacing a Catalytic Converter is not cheap, it can cost about $1,000 for parts and labor.
