Tulsa police say a man is dead after he was hit by a pickup truck while walking across the street near 8th and Sheridan.
According to police, officers were called to the scene around 8 p.m. on Thursday night.
Police say when they arrived they found the man lying in the road.
According to officers, the driver was cooperative at the scene and was not given a citation or taken into custody.
Currently, police believe the crash to be a tragic accident in a part of town that isn't very well lit.
"The light here is, there is lighting here which is good but it's very still dim so I'm not sure if the pedestrian was wearing dark clothes or not but I know other people saw him in the road and stopped and gave us a story of what they saw and heard," said Tulsa Police Capt. Jeremy Noland.
Officers closed a portion of Sheridan while they investigated the scene, it has since reopened.
