Tulsa Community College now has more funds to help strengthen its mental health resources.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration awarded TCC with a $625,000 "Mental Health Matters" grant.
That money will go toward expanding awareness and training for mental health.
The college says it will receive &125,000 each year for five years to put toward providing coordinated care for students in need of mental health services
TCC says mental health concerns were on the rise before the pandemic, but the COVID-19 pandemic has added to that.
The college says its goal is to provide mental health training to 1,000 people, faculty, staff and students to become better aware of in-the-moment techniques to help those who may be facing challenges.
The school says it will also create mental health awareness campaigns
