Bartlesville City Council Approves 'Collection Of Use Tax' On Out-Of-State Purchases

Bartlesville residents will have to start paying tax on out-of-state purchases.

The Bartlesville City Council on Monday approved the collection of a use tax on sales from retailers outside of Oklahoma, like Amazon.

The tax will go into effect on January 1, 2023.

The city expects to collect more than $3.5 million annually through the tax.
