Tulsa Zoo Hosts Seventh Annual 'Breakfast With Santa' Event

The Tulsa Zoo is spreading some early Christmas cheer.

Santa decided to spread some holiday spirit early with a special visit to the Tulsa Zoo.

Visitors were able to eat breakfast, do arts and crafts, decorate cookies, and of course, meet Santa himself.

Zoo members like Carol Ott brought four generations of her family to the zoo on Saturday.

"We wanted to try this and this is very well worth every penny," Ott said.

Amy Watson with the Tulsa Zoo says the event has been growing in popularity every year.

"This is the seventh year that we've had the Breakfast with Santa event," Watson said. "Every year it has sold out. Now when we first started it, we only offered one session, and we have built upon that as the demand has grown, but it is always like I said a family favorite and it does sell out quickly."

With the stress of the holiday season, some parents say breakfast with Santa is a nice change of pace.

David Chester says his kids loved every moment.

"Being able to bring them here, you know a place like the zoo, somewhere special and let them kind of being able to walk around and have fun and not really stress out as much," Chester said. It's been really easy for us and they've really enjoyed it."

Ott hopes to make this a Christmas tradition for her family so they can make more memories that will last a lifetime.

"They have it set up so nice that you don't have to rush out here like we did this morning think we had to be first in line," Ott said. "The tables always open. It's incredible."

The Breakfast with Santa event is completely sold out for next Saturday.
