Wednesday, Tulsa County deputies delivered thousands of toys to students in Sand Springs.
“Santa is here and he’s bringing us all the presents and stuff," said Lillyana Baskin.
Lillyana carefully picked out her two toys while some of her classmates couldn't wait to share what they chose.
“I got some erasers, holiday. And some play-doh stuff with some cutting things," said Pistil Burns.
Each student from kindergarten to 5th grade got to pick out two toys from Santa and the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.
“A lot of these kids don’t have an opportunity to have as good of a Christmas as other kids do. So we have a chance to come over here and bless them with some things and they really enjoy it. It’s a great time," said Lamont Hill.
Hill is the president of Tulsa County fraternal order of police. He said some of the deputies involved in today's delivery worked the overnight shift but instead of going home to rest, wanted to be at the schools spreading holiday joy.
“They come in and they show us stuff ‘hey look what I got! I got this and it’s cool. A lot of neat toys. Some stuff is still around from when I was a kid a long, long time ago. They get to enjoy it and it touches us in the heart too and we enjoy it as well," said Hill.
