Bartlesville Police Spread Christmas Cheer To Families In Need

Bartlesville police officers took to the streets Wednesday to make sure families have a wonderful meal for Christmas.

Bartlesville Police chief Tracy Roles and his whole department love helping their citizens.

 "We've identified several families in town in need of a little assistance," said Chief Roles.

25 of the baskets are going to 25 families this year for Christmas, all donated from the department and citizens-- from rolls to cans to a Christmas ham.

The chief and his family made a stop at a local church.

Mario Russo gets to share this meal this Christmas and says it's truly a gift.

"This is awesome, this community they need that. People don't have too much," said Russo.

"It's something very rewarding to get the opportunity to do something that positively impacts people in our community," Roles said.

The last stop was Chris Pool's house.

Chris has 5 kids and said someone must have nominated his family for the baskets because it was a complete surprise.

He said after an exhausting couple years, this will make their entire Christmas better.

"A better Christmas means we get to have more stuff to do and a better meal," said Pool.

Officers plan on pulling people over and surprising people with gifts, and hope to continue giving back to their community.
