After about a week of speculation, Oklahoma State football has their man.
Derek Mason is the Cowboys' new defensive coordinator, officially announced on January 26.
Mason comes to Stillwater after a year in the same position on Bryan Harsin's staff at Auburn.
Prior to that, he was Vanderbilt's head coach from 2014 to 2020, leading them to bowl games in 2016 and 2018.
Mason spent 2010 to 2013 as defensive coordinator at Stanford. Before Standford, he spent three years in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings.
