Tulsa Police are looking for two men caught on camera trying to rob a man outside of a dispensary.
It happened January 14 in broad daylight.
The would-be thieves ran away empty handed and the victim wasn't hurt, but police say it could have been a lot worse.
Daryan Tygart said the two people started yelling and swearing at him to hand over his stuff.
Security cameras outside ofthe store caught the whole thing.
“They ran up to me as I approached my car and tried to rob me as I got into my car," Tygart said. “They thought I was going to give it up because they had a gun and there were two of them, you know they just chose the wrong person.”
Tygart said one of them had a gun but he wasn't giving up without a fight.
“When I realized essentially what they were doing, you know, the script kind of flipped and I just wasn’t going to let them take my stuff. So I put my stuff in my car and fought back,” he said.
Tulsa Police Detective Justin Ritter hopes the video leads to arrests.
“Somebody is going to recognize them," Ritter said.
He said people have seen the two walking around in the area before and he's surprised how bold the suspects were.
“Broad daylight, these guys are brazen enough to do this in a parking lot in one of the most popular areas of our city. This obviously could’ve turned out very differently," Ritter said.
Tygart said he isn't going to let this change him.
“I’m not going to let an incident like this take away my sense of security," Tygart said.
Detective Ritter is happy no one got hurt but he said that it's safer not to fight back over personal belongings.
