A mild day is expected with a few clouds and a west wind.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:
Still no major changes to the overall pattern for the next few days. A warmer than normal pattern keeps us in the 60s on Wednesday, the upper 50s Thursday, and back into the upper 60s Friday before a strong front moves across the area Friday night. This brings a one-day cool-down with a modified arctic airmass taking daytime highs back in into the upper 30s and lower 40s with strong north winds. This colder air quickly moves eastward Sunday afternoon as another warming trend begins for most of next week. The upper air flow also changes next week, bringing at least one, possibly two strong disturbances near the state in the southwest upper flow. This pattern usually brings active weather, and storm probabilities will be increasing by the middle to next of next week with this pattern.
Temperatures on Wednesday morning will start in the 20s and 30s. Northwest winds remain behind a weak front but will have little impact on temps for the afternoon. Highs will continue to reach the lower to mid-60s with a few high clouds in the sunshine. Humidity on Wednesday afternoon will drop quite a bit and the fire spread rate will increase through the afternoon. Another mid-level disturbance moves across the Missouri Valley later tonight and may squeeze out a sprinkle or two early Thursday morning near or east of the metro. This will bring northeast winds Thursday with a minor reduction in afternoon highs, back into the mid to upper 50s with more afternoon sunshine. Strong southwest winds quickly arrive Friday with afternoon highs reaching the mid to upper 60s before the strongest front during this period arrives late Friday night with north winds and falling temps. Precip chances remain very low, but a few sprinkles may arrive along and behind the front before much drier air arrives Saturday afternoon with gusty north winds at 20 to 30 mph. We’ll quickly rebound Sunday with southwest winds and highs in the 50s and lower 60s.
The southwest flow next week should eventually bring some precip back to the state. This would be good news. The drought is worsening and fire danger increasing until beneficial precipitation arrives.
Thanks for reading the Wednesday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a super great day!
