Dewey School Board Approves Pay Increase For Substitutes

Substitute teachers at Dewey Public Schools are getting a raise.

The Dewey school board approved a pay increase of $20.

The district will pay non-certified substitute teachers $70 a day.

Certified substitutes will receive $90.

Superintendent Vince Vincent said the increase puts the district at the same level as other schools in the area.

He hopes it will help them recruit and keep substitutes.
