A local animal rescue has a new donation thanks to a nine year-old girl and her lemonade stand. It all started when Makena Brown and her friend got the idea to start the stand and put the money towards helping dogs. It only took the stand two days to raise $600 for "Legacy of Hope."

"Because I know dogs need help and it makes me really sad to see dogs whenever they like need help and stuff," Makena Brown said.

"It's just been amazing to see the future out there helping and raising funds and knowing there will be someone to continue this legacy," said Ashley Barnes, Legacy of Hope.

Makena gave the check to Legacy of Hope on Thursday. She plans to do this all again soon.
