Cooler temperatures offer a break from the intense summer heat on Tuesday.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:
Another mix of sunshine and clouds will be likely today with afternoon highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s. A few spotty showers will remain, mostly southeast of the metro across southeastern sections of the state. This pattern remains for the next few days before additional scattered storm chances increase some into the weekend and early next week.
The main upper-level system responsible for heavy rainfall across the Red River Valley and north TX is close enough to bring a few additional scattered showers or storms across far southeastern OK today and Wednesday. This system may still be near for another chance for a few showers and storms across far southeastern OK Thursday. Our next upper-level system will be nearing the state from the Rockies by the weekend with a few additional scattered showers or storms with afternoon highs in the lower 90s. Data has trended toward another front nearing the area Monday and Tuesday bringing additional storm chances and another decent reduction in temps. Before this front arrives, we’ll gradually warm a few degrees through the end of this week with highs in the mid-90s Friday.
Temperatures this afternoon will be regulated by moisture wrapping around the low-pressure area near the ArkLaTex with warmer readings more to the north compared to southeastern OK. Shower chances will remain low, but a few spots across far southeastern OK may still see a few heavier downpours. While this morning’s set up is not exactly the same as yesterday, we may see some patchy fog developing during the early morning hours in a few locations.
Thanks for reading the Tuesday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a super great day!
