Cooler weekend temperatures stick around to start the week, but the heat could soon return to Green Country.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:
After a cool and chilly start on Monday morning, afternoon highs will be near normal with abundant sunshine and mostly light wind. Another warming trend is likely for the rest of the week, continuing through the weekend.
The front that moved across the area this weekend has brought dry air into northern Oklahoma on Monday morning. Temperatures have dropped into the lower 50s in the metro with upper 40s across many of the valley regions. Clear sky and light winds will return for most of the day with afternoon highs reaching the mid-80s. Despite the cool weather on Monday morning, a warming trend will commence soon and continue through the foreseeable future. Morning lows will eventually return into the upper 60s and lower 70s by late this weekend and the weekend. Afternoon highs will max-out in the lower 90s Tuesday through Thursday and reach the mid-90s this weekend with slightly breezy southwest winds from 12 to 22 mph. The fire spread rates will be increasing this weekend. Significant precipitation chances will remain out of the forecast but a few stray to isolated showers and storms will be possible Tuesday and Wednesday to our west. This weekend a storm system brushes the northern and central plains but a mid-level riding developing out of Texas should keep these precip chances also out of our forecast for the immediate area.
Enjoy this great taste of fall weather on Monday We’re not finished with summer yet.
Thanks for reading the Monday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a super great day!
