Four veterans had their wishes fulfilled on Thursday by Soldier's Wish.
Soldier's Wish helps veterans, active-duty service members, and their families financially and by connecting them with other resources that can help them.
Events like this also offer the chance to connect with others in similar situations.
Stephen Starbuck is a 26-year Army Veteran, whose wife passed away in 2019. After her death, Starbuck got involved with Soldier’s Wish.
At the time, his car didn’t work. The organization helped him with funds to repair the car and he decided to give back by helping others.
He said the services the organization provides makes the biggest difference in a veteran's life.
“They’re trying to give us a feeling of belonging and need and that what we give means something,” Starbuck said.
Soldier’s Wish also gave a veteran a service dog to help with his PTSD.
The organization said they still have a lot of wishes to fulfil from last year, but it needs additional donations to grant them all.
