An Okmulgee man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for shooting and killing a man who was sweeping a convenience store parking lot in Tulsa back in 2021.

Federal prosecutors say Marquelon Johnson chased down and shot Austin Martin in October of 2021.
Martin was sweeping up trash in a convenience store parking lot near Pine and Harvard when Johnson approached him.
Security video shows after a brief conversation, Johnson left and came back less than a minute later. The victim took off running as Johnson began shooting.

Officers eventually caught Johnson when he ended up in the hospital after he tried to break into a car and was hurt by the vehicle's owner.
