Tulsa Police Release Body Cam Video Of Standoff, Shooting From Summer Of 2022

Tulsa Police have released body cam video of a standoff from last summer that ended with officers shooting a woman.

The shooting happened on July 5, 2022, near the Gathering Place in Tulsa.

Police were called to a condemned home where officers say a woman was squatting, and causing disruptions in the neighborhood.

Police say Michele Burke was incoherent and confronted officers with a sword and then a gun, leading officers to shoot her following an hour-long standoff.

Burke survived the shooting and has pleaded not guilty to two counts of pointing a firearm and a count of threatening an act of violence.
