The vacant seat on the Tulsa Public School board is filled after nearly two months.
The board appointed Diamond Marshall as the representative for District 2, which includes Rogers and Booker T. Washington High School.
She was one of nine candidates considered.
The vote came just four days ahead of the deadline to fill the seat without triggering a special election.
Marshall said it's an honor to be selected for the position.
"I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the voices of our community are heard and that the needs of our students, families, and staff are met," she said.
