The LIV Golf Tournament in Broken Arrow is getting started this week with a Pro-Am tournament benefiting the Talor Gooch Foundation.
The goal of Talor Gooch Foundation is to empower kids and give them tools and opportunities to chase their dreams.
Talor says it's important to him to be able to host this tournament in his home state.
"I love my Oklahomans and so what we want to do is keep it local, we want to focus on kids, we want to give the next generations an opportunity to chase their dreams, whatever that may be," he said.
Tracy Phillips is a professional playing in the pro-am. He grew up and also taught at Cedar Ridge and says it's amazing that area kids have another chance this year to see the world's top golfers play in Green Country.
"Anytime you can have the best players in the world play your home golf course for starters, but also just have the best players in the world come to the city of Tulsa two years in a row is fantastic," Phillips said.
Talor says he hopes the tournament this week inspires the next generation of golfers.
He says golf has been such a blessing to him, and he wants to make sure he's using the platform he has to make a difference.
"I wouldn't be here without so many people along the way who have helped give me an opportunity to do more with my life so that's what we are here for, to help others," he said.
The foundation partnered with Hope is Alive, Positive Tomorrows and the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour to host the fundraiser.
