Residents at the Sandy Park Apartments are back home after several buildings were evacuated after Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG) equipment was damaged overnight.

According to Tulsa Police, someone crashed into an Oklahoma Natural Gas regulator station that served the complex, near 65th West Avenue and Charles Page Boulevard, around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday and drove off.

Tulsa Police say residents in the area reported that they heard a loud crash and a hissing noise. Tulsa Fire officials say they then ordered about 50 residents to leave their apartments.

ONG fixed the damaged station after about four hours.

Police have not found the driver involved and say they are treating the crash like a hit-and-run investigation.
