TULSA, Okla. - Cooler temperatures return to Green Country on Tuesday morning before another storm system arrives toward the end of the week.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:
The upper air flow will transition from the northwest for the next few days. A strong upper-level low will dive south out of Canada later this week bringing a cold front into the area Friday. Scattered storms will return, as early as Thursday evening, but mostly pre-dawn Friday. A few storms could be strong and severe with the possibility of a small complex of storms moving across the area. As the system exists northern Oklahoma about midday Friday, additional storms may develop across southeastern OK that could still support severe weather threats. Once the front clears the area Friday evening, pleasant weather is expected this weekend with morning lows in the 50s. Saturday afternoon highs will remain in the lower 70s. Sunday’s afternoon high is expected in the mid to upper 70s. Before this late week system arrives, drier air is arriving today and brings much lower humidity midweek.
Tropical-type moisture with dew points in the upper 60s and lower 70s has been quickly replaced overnight with lower dew point temps in the upper 50s near 60. Wrap-around clouds behind the departing storm system may squeeze out a pocket of mist or a few spotty showers this morning. These clouds should remain for most northeastern OK through at least early afternoon keeping highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Northwest winds are likely at 10 to 15 mph. West of our immediate area, more sunshine is likely with warmer conditions across the central and western OK region. Even drier low-level air arrives tonight bringing spectacular Wednesday weather with lows in the 50s and highs in the mid to upper 70s along with mostly sunny sky. South winds return Thursday attempting to bring low-level moisture ahead of the Friday system. A few storms may develop Thursday evening to our west, but higher chances arrive overnight at Friday morning through midday as the front moves southward across the region. Once it passes through, wonderful weekend weather is likely to arrive.
Thanks for reading the Tuesday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a super great day!
