TULSA, Okla. - Expect more warm temperatures on Wednesday.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:
A warm afternoon is likely with a slight chance for a few showers or storms. Higher chances arrive by the weekend as the upper air pattern undergoes some changes.
A weak outflow generated from overnight storms across southeastern Kansas will trigger a few scattered storms along the OK-KS state line region on Wednesday morning. Later in the day, a few additional pop-up storms will be possible with abundant low-level moisture in place and daytime heating reaching the mid to upper 80s. Southeast winds will remain mostly light but a few gusts from 10 to 15 mph will be possible. A slightly more favorable area for a few additional storms will be near the old outflow across extreme northeastern OK into northwestern Arkansas this afternoon.
Another complex of storms is likely on Wednesday night across the high plains of Texas and southeastern Colorado. A decaying complex will arrive across western Oklahoma Thursday morning and drift eastward nearing northeastern OK during the day. A few of these may survive nearby Thursday, but the chance remains relatively low. The main upper-level pattern will bring additional showers and storms nearing the region late Thursday night through the weekend. Pockets of moderate to heavy downpours will be possible during this period, with the highest chances Saturday. Organized severe weather is unlikely as the stronger flow with the subtropical jet remains south and the polar jet remains well north. The main threat will be a few storms producing gusty winds and small hail along with pockets of heavy rainfall.
Temperatures will remain above seasonal averages in the short term with morning lows in the mid to upper 60s and daytime highs in the upper 80s today and Thursday. A minor reduction is likely Friday through the weekend due to the presence of more clouds and some rain-cooled boundaries.
Thanks for reading the Wednesday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a super great day!
