A lot of people are dealing with roof damage because so many huge trees fell onto homes and business all over Green Country.
Some houses could have thousands of dollars’ worth of damage to them.
“I got into my utility room and opened up my garage and saw that my attic was sitting on my car,” said Jana Holder.
Holder’s car is still trapped inside her garage as crews work to get debris off the roof.
Thousands of people in Green Country like Holder have been on the phone with roofing companies like A-Best, trying to get in line to get their repairs.
"It's just a solid ring,” said Jim Lane, the owner of A-Best Roofing. “It's been overwhelming, we've been keeping up as good as we can."
Lane owns A-Best Roofing and been in the roofing business for decades.
He said he’s never seen a storm cover this much ground.
"This storm's not like a hail storm,” said Lane. “A hail storm comes through and it just wipes out roofs and it leaves a definite path."
He said it’s important to make sure you check all the companies you use on the state website to make sure they’re licensed, bonded, and insured.
Holder is thankful she got started on this process early, since it will be a long road ahead.
"Everyone and their dog is going to be making the same phone call,” said Holder. “So as quickly as you can get on it and get started, the better off you're going to be."
Holder said all she can do is try to stay positive and keep fixing one thing at a time.
"It's going to be a process,” said Holder. “These guys are literally having to peel off layer by layer.”
