City Of Tulsa Hosts 2 Ice Giveaways As Thousands Face Power Outages, Summer Heat

Free ice giveaways will be taking place at two locations in Tulsa on Friday as thousands face power outages amid the summer heat.

The City of Tulsa says crews will be handing out free bags of ice at the River Spirit Casino Resort in the South Parking Lot starting at 8 a.m. on Friday morning. The ice distribution is scheduled to last until 8 p.m., or until they run out of ice.

The city is also opening a second location through Uma Tulsa on Friday morning. The giveaway will be held at 'Plaza Santa Cecilia,' near 21st and Garnett. Crews will begin handing out ice in the parking lot at around 9:30 a.m.

Heat Advisories are in effect again on Friday as the summer heat and humidity continue. Those who are facing outages, and are in need of a place to cool off or charge their devices, can visit one of the city's several cooling stations open around town.
