1 Arrested In Connection To Tulsa Shooting; Homicide Investigation Underway

Tulsa Police say they've arrested a suspect after someone was shot and killed near MLK Jr. Boulevard and Pine this morning.

Police say another victim was shot and taken to the hospital.

Police say they've arrested a person who they believe shot the two people, so they say there is no danger to the community.

Police say a disturbance call at this home on East Virgin Street quickly turned into a shooting response around 11:30 Friday morning.

"One person who is shot and killed in the house, another person was shot out here, or that's where we found that person, don't know if that person was shot inside of the house or outside of the house," said Captain Richard Meulenberg.

He says the person they found outside was taken to the hospital. He says when officers arrived, a group of people were at the home. One of them was the suspect they believe shot the two people.

"Officers were here very, very quickly, it is now noon, so this happened during our day shift hours, so we were on the scene nearly immediately. That's why we were able to get people into custody," he said.

Meulenberg says it's a tragic situation anytime someone loses their life to gun violence.

Police have not yet identified anyone involved in this shooting or how they might know each other.
