Rogers County Woman Arrested After Man Says She Stole Presents From Under His Christmas Tree

A Rogers County man said his Christmas plans took a turn after a thief broke into his home and stole the presents from under his tree.

The good news is he and the sheriff's office outsmarted that suspect to get an arrest. 

The sheriff's office said Jennifer Norris talked to the victim after she stole the presents and offered to give the presents back if he agreed not to file charges.

But when she arrived, investigators were waiting for her.

“We have a female burglar, a female Grinch, going in the house stealing Christmas presents," said Sheriff Scott Walton.

Walton said the woman is Jennifer Norris.

Walton said a man who lives in rural Rogers County captured Norris on camera driving into his driveway. Moments later, all his presents under the tree were stolen. 

"It’s a reminder people know that if there's a Christmas tree, there is something of value underneath that," he said.

The game cameras recorded this video of Norris leaving with her trunk open with the presents inside.

The victim called law enforcement, who tracked down Norris through her car tag.

Walton said Norris somehow got the victim’s phone number and called him, saying she would return all the gifts if he agreed not to press charges.

“She makes contact with the victim trying to persuade him not to file charges, and she’ll return the gifts," Walton said.

When she arrived with her daughter, the victim was there– but so were some Rogers County deputies.

"She said she didn't want to traumatize her small daughter but brings the daughter with her,” said Walton.

An affidavit said Norris stole thousands of dollars, an engraved watch, coveralls, cooking supplies and more from under the tree.

The victim said he works hard to provide for his family and two teenage kids, and although he didn't get all of his stuff back, he was thankful for an arrest.

"If you're going to do that stuff, stay in Tulsa because it is not tolerated here," Sheriff Walton said.

Norris was out on bond after being charged in October in Craig County for burglary and running from police.

Four days after that, she was given three years' probation for embezzlement in Creek County. 

She also has convictions for forgery in Tulsa County.

The victim said he didn't know her. 

Her daughter was taken into DHS custody.
