A Tulsa nonprofit is looking to expand its services to help more people suffering from homelessness.

The organization is working to raise $200,000 to help them expand its outreach. So far it's reached 40 percent of its goal.

The BeHeard Movement serves as a traveling and mobile drop-in center providing showers, laundry, clothing, and haircuts to the city's homeless population.

The new campaign is called ‘Showering Change.’

Founder Evan Dougoud said his organization is thankful for everyone who has supported them so far, but said now they want to dream even bigger.

Dougood said if they meet their campaign goal, they’re looking to buy another laundry trailer and remodel two shipping containers to be a computer lab and office space to help provide more resources.

"Once we do that, people can like apply for jobs in our job program, engage with other providers for mental health, dental and things like that in our shipping containers. So we’re so excited for that," Dougood said.

Dougood said being able to shower affects people’s mental health and confidence, which plays a part in them getting back on their feet.

The BeHeard Movement hopes to meet its goal by December 31. CLICK HERE to learn more.
