29-Year-Old Woman Armed With Weapon Killed During Hostage Situation In Tulsa

A 29-year-old woman was shot and killed by officers during a domestic dispute and hostage situation on Saturday night in Tulsa, police say.

The Tulsa Police Department said officers responded to a home on East 33rd Place around 10:30 p.m. where the female was brandished and fired a gun while taking hostages inside.

Police set a perimeter and attempted to negotiate, but the female made threats of suicide and harming the hostages, police said.

The threats forced officers to enter the home, where they said the female suspect began a countdown that prompted officers to shoot.

Police said the female suspect died at the scene. There were no other injuries.

Police said the Medical Examiner will determine which shot caused the death.

The female suspect has not been identified.
